Henry Oden is an American blues musician, born the eighth day of February 1947 in Oakland, California. He is known for his powerful bass lines, soulful vocals and ability to connect with his audiences through his music. 
Oden began his music career in the 1960’s once he graduated high school. He started performing with local blues musicians and soon became a most sought-after bass player, recording with renowned blues artists such as Jimmy McCraklin, Bill Withers qand Hightide Harris. During the late 60 Henry became a member of the Whispering Shadows show band opening and backing show for the likes of Jackie Wilson, Big Mama Thornton and Jimmy Reed.
By 1971  Oden had, had the honor sharing the stage with soul rock band Loading Zone, Tony Parker's Heavens Expressway, toured with legendary bluesman Freddy King, Sly Stone just to name a few. former Butterfield blues band member Mark Naftalin’s Blue Monday Party band.  
In 1982 he would join the San Francisco Blues Festival rhythm section, recording and touring Europe with legendary musicians like Little Joe Blue and Sonny Rhodes. He also performed and toured with other blues giants such as Stoney Edwards, Jimmy Dawkins, L.C Robinson, Jimmy Reed and Joe Louis Walker. 
Throughout his career Oden has remained true to the blues. Drawing inspiration from his many years of experience and the struggle of African Americans. He is known for his distinctive bass blues style and his ability to bring new a new energy to his performances  
His contribution to the blues world and his legacy as a talented bass player and vocalist continue to contribute and inspire other musicians today.
